John 1:40-49

40 ^aOne of the two who heard John speak and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the ^bMessiah” (which translated means ^{▼▼ Gr Anointed One}Christ). 42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of ^{▼▼ Gr Joannes
,} ^eJohn; you shall be called ^fCephas” (which is translated ^{▼▼ I.e. Rock or Stone
,} ^hPeter).

43 ⁱThe next day He purposed to go into ^jGalilee, and He found ^kPhilip. And Jesus said to him, ^l“Follow Me.” 44 Now ^mPhilip was from ⁿBethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 ^oPhilip found ^pNathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom ^qMoses in the Law and also ^rthe Prophets wrote— Jesus of ^sNazareth, ^tthe son of Joseph.” 46 Nathanael said to him, ^u“Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” ^vPhilip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Behold, an ^wIsraelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before ^xPhilip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered Him, ^y“Rabbi, You are ^zthe Son of God; You are the ^aaKing of Israel.”
